1860 $2.50 Liberty, New Reverse type Two, PCGS AU55. The vast majority of 1860 quarter sales extant are of the Type II Reverse hub variety, introduced in 1859, and identifiable by small, widely spaced arrowheads. Despite an original mintage of 22,563 coins, this variety is very scarce, if not rare, in all Mint State grades. The high-water mark occurred in 2006 for a PCGS MS65. It realized $18,400.
